A Painted Starry Night

Exploding colors of evening's sunset
Warming winter's fallow fields
When kindest words of love awaken
Soon the artist's soul will yield

Paint for you and me
From the palette of wandering stars
Trails of cooling sparks flicker dimly into dark
Reserve desire for a twinkling
Answer now each aching heart

Parched dry lips yearn for kisses
Passion's cup doth boil
Light the misty moonlit night
With lamps of scented oil

In this deepened azure night
As lovers hearts draw nigh
Vaulted heavens canopy
Repose beneath this starry sky
