Honey Wind

Cabeza:

I sit alone where the fire glows.
The fire glows and the honey wind blows.

I sit alone and the good Lord knows.
I miss you so when the honey winds blow.
Fred Hellerman

You left me alone
and my heart is aching.
No butterflies spinning silk cocoons
so it's probably breaking.
How it hurts, Lord how it hurts.
I tilt my chin but it's just a pose.
Looks good on the outside
but I know the downside.
The day you left, my poor heart froze...
I sit alone where the fire glows.

My friends offer platitudes,
expressing their attitudes
but they don't feel the pain,
weren't run over by the train.
How can they understand
this hurting grows and grows?
I imagined love was grand.
Is it really worth the trouble
when my heart is crushed to rubble
and has sunken to my toes?
The fire glows and the honey wind blows.

Honey wind should blow so sweet,
a gentle breeze of love,
to ripple soft in new spring grass
and stir the trees above.
I find it hard to understand,
it's funny how it goes...
this gross desertion you had planned
as fires of doubt and hate were fanned.
I bring to God my cares and woes
I sit alone and the good Lord knows.

I have to move on,
I'm done with grieving.
Pick up my heart from where it fell
and get over you leaving.
I'm covered in thorns
from that last red rose,
wounded and infected,
feeling unloved and rejected.
What can I do? God only knows.
I miss you so when the honey wind blows.
