CLOSING MY HEART

Having a heart
of purest gold
filled with Love
to have and hold

Holding dreams
always close
hiding feelings
for one
she loved most

Believing in truth
revealing her heart
only to have it
torn apart

Cast aside
as an old shoe
unwanted
and not needed

Her love
destroyed
as he walked
away

Leaving her
bleeding
heartbroken
alone

Bitter tears
shed
at times wishing
she were dead

Her heart
turned to stone
whispering
'goodbye my love'

Closing
her heart again
knowing it would
never mend
