Blending All My Colors

It’s really hard to be always blending in
When all your colors shine
I made it to the finish line,
And the weather here is fine
The race belongs to the swiftest
So let the swift be on their way
Me? I’ll be content
To run again some other day
If I begin blending all my colors
All the magenta’s, green’s, and gold’s
Will I then, become an anomaly?
Or will I be glorious to behold?

Will I then have the vision
To see me as I am?
Or am I destined to be
Teetering on the precipice of blue
From whence my thoughts began?
Take me to my vulnerabilities
And from where and when the wind blows,
Let me find the peace I seek
Becoming then, what eyes cannot see
Blended white,
Within my own mystique.

Or let me ride perihelion
Yellow, as daughter to the golden sun
Standing at the ready,
For when and if the race is done,
Let me then allow each color to glow.
Let it be done, for so it goes…
A mish mash of many colored hues
And thus it goes…
And so it goes.
It goes.

Oh, look at me now, my colors have blended
And there’s something in that smile,
And there’s something in the way it ended
That made my race worth while.
Blending in the colors
Of everything within reach,
But it wasn’t a Waring blender, that I used,
It was my old friend Hamilton Beach.

I don't need a fancy cuisinart to blend in the colors of me
Any old Mix Master should do just fine to make my colors shine.
