Sometimes You Wish ...

it was a glorious summer ...

warm wonderful sunlit days,
shimmering starlit nights,
and ....

oh those summer storms ... sudden and fierce ...

what beautiful rainbows they left in their wake ....

I wish it never existed

for now ... I suffer in pain ....

from a cold winter never known

and with the memory of summer burning deep within my heart ...

the pain of this cold, cold winter

reaches down ... to the very marrow of my bones ...

leaving me crying ....

asking why? ....

why was there a summertime ....

for me?
