48 Years Strong

There are two special people in this world
Who have stayed together for so long
Let me introduce you to a marriage
That is 48 years strong

Their love is built on mutual trust
With a friendship based on joint respect
Both were willing to commit together
So I write this poem to reflect

There were some very hard times through the years
Do you remember the Profit's garden flooding
All the potatoes plants were washed away
We could keep all we found, so we went mudding

They are a testament of how a marriage should be
A love which blossomed as a flower
Holding as solid as a mountain
Whether together for a century or an hour

So join me on congratulating my parents
On this wonderful milestone under a full moon
To my Father: Marvin the Cheesemaker
To my Mother: Barbie June

You guys are the best
You are an example for the rest
Your love has been to the test
Your results have more than impressed

Happy Anniversary and Thanks
