Yesterday's Tomorrow

Dust to dust, imprints run afoot
inlaid the race of earth ‘n soot
and sunday mass seems so psychotic

On poignant thoughts seep memory
when dreams are my reality,
gently creeping to the zygotic

Here lies once ferocious momma bear
earthen pot adorns her ash now earned
credits spent on passions most aware
nature’s ways forevermore she's learned

Her mark, fear not as a stain or plight
wisdom pulses veins through sunlit son
soars her generations ‘pon starlight
sings heaven ‘n earth, for they are one

Lessons, humility I grasp
retrospective reins, let time pass
quivered my quill embracing death, I sat

Warm belongings of cold remains
left penned among my last refrains
yesterday is tomorrows’ epitaph!
