Mary Anne- Your Buddy Is Nuts

Well Mary Ann, your buddy
Jeremiah came to call
And he came with lovely flowers,
A big flask of wine and all
He had a air about him
And a great big stupid grin
And I suspect he'd had a drink
Before I let him in
I was the perfect hostess
I served him algea tea
But I suspect he spiked it
When he knew I could not see
For the night was going very well
And I thought that I'd thank you
But he jumped up on my table
His real colors showing through
And he started in a singing
And a-waving an old flag
And he bunched my pretty tablecloth
Into this dirty rag
Joy to the world , he hollered out
Just as tipsy as could be
And Mary Ann I wondered why
You sent him here to me
So of course I sent him packing
But as he hopped way
I felt sorry for I think perhaps
He was nervous in some way
For I asked a lot of questions
And I quess I should have known
The answers that he gave me
Were surely not his own
For he knew about old Smiling Dan
And even Oscar Mouse
And he showed an inclination
To snoop about my house
I think perhaps you coached him
About the things to say
But Mary dear, my girlfried
they just got in the way
So Mary, If you see him
Give him a message please
That I'll give him another chance
If he will promise me
That he'll arrive quite sober
With some sort of eveing planned
Cause I'm not about to spend my time
With any drunken man
But I find I'm not quite ready
To give him the old heave oh
So I'm sending you this message
Mary Ann to let you know
That if he wants to see me
It's up to you to fix
These tiny liittle problems
Dear, I'll be sending you a list.
I'm sure it's gonna take some time
So dear, be patient, see
If he is indeed the perfect man
This frog you've found for me
For it not everyone I'd trust
To meddle in my life
But you're my friend , my other part
So that gives you that right.
Still love ya
Mary Ann
