Dry Those Tears

When you cease to dream your own dreams
and share them in intimacy
you might find yourself without support
blinking in darkness at naught
but the faint
watery affections
from a leaf falling from its tree
that appear as tears
dripping onto your face like paint
in expressions that aren’t anymore yours

But those tears they are wasted
for they are ignored
and no one’s really listening
to give them the meaning
they fetter

But as long as we both be,
shed those tears freely
and do away
with false pretenses
and feigned images,
No need to retreat
or a happiness
of make believe
for I am here
to turn those tears
to joy....together
