A MELODY TO REMEMBER
Mother Nature gives us so much joy to remember,
A joy of a beautiful songbirds melody from January to December.
It doesn’t matter what kind of bird or melody they sing,
The songbird’s sweet melody has a special ring.
It is always amazing how high or low they sing each day,
The songbird’s melody brings me happiness everyday.
The sweetness of each melody usually has a special reason,
Whether they are guarding their territory or it is the mating season.
Sometimes the songbird’s melody goes on for hours at a time,
Wish I could record and understand each melody and line.
I can sit by my window and listen for hours.
The songbird’s sweet melody is like the aroma of flowers.
Sitting nearby the lilac trees or other tree branches that swing ,
The songbirds seem to know I’m there and continue to sing.
The songbird’s sweet melody touches my heart,
I always look forward to their early morning melodies to start.
Some melodies are clear and some warbled somewhat,
But on a clear day a songbird’s sweet melody I understand a lot.
I remember the day I was so sad and blue,
The beautiful songbird seem to know the needed song for me too.
