Humanness

'Blue Girl' by Sara Moon

The night expanded
to fit my container of emotions

I fell in love with the sound

A breeze
on its way to certain oblivion
ran through the folds of my skirt

I fell in love with the feel

A trail of tears evaporated
and was quite impossible
to follow home

I fell in love with the sight

Words tumbled
through my psyche
winning gold medals for my country

I locked the container tightly
lest I be blinded
by the melee
of excruciating humanness
