Tribulation

Mighty mountains I have climbed, Lord,
seeking goals beyond my reach.
You are with me in my struggles,
supporting, loving as You teach.
Times I strayed from narrow pathways,
with a different point of view,
but I need not to have bothered,
every road leads me back to You.

Rushing streams of tribulation,
raging torrents conquered, crossed.
I was pummelled by the under-tow,
drowning, imagined all was lost.
Again I reached out and You saved me,
when I should have paid the cost.
Thou, my strength what e'er I do,
Lord, every road leads back to You.

In oceans of despair I wallow,
yet still I'm clinging to the cross.
Massive waves crash down around me,
with You I suffer not the loss.
Fair winds blow when storms are over,
gentle breezes billow sails.
You are my very inspiration
when I am weak and courage fails.

Thou, my strength what e'er I do,
my Lord, my God, I worship You.
