~ Twilight Ride ~

In quiet contemplation, as I await sleep's kiss
I drift along in twilight thought, swept by rising mist

Not quite asleep, yet not aware, of surrounding where I lay
Thoughts pass by like notebook read, events throughout my day

Then deeper still, I'm carried off, in a dreamlike state of mind
Viewing random scenes unveiled, interchanging as they wind

Panoramic view is seen, and sounds with tempo pace
A part I am, as if transformed, connected to each place

The night has a million voices, each beckons to be heard
I understand the language used, recognizing every word

As if traveling with my mind, all seen through my mind's eye
I know I left this world called home, to visit days gone by

The voices of the night speak truth, of things we sometimes hide
Subconscious thoughts will rear their head, while on this twilight ride
