Trust Again

Mile Marker MCCCXLI

Free Verse

A promising horizon bleeds,
witnessing the darkness smile.
As I watch from my window,
morning sunshine chases away
shadows fearing words written
by treasure lost,
love remembered.
Tomorrow refuses to negotiate
with yesterday claiming circles turn.
Weaknesses fear strength
while change remains possible.
Weary of current direction bid
farewell to hopelessness
comforting moonless midnight.
Farewell to loneliness
committed to stone.
A promising horizon bleeds,
finding the courage, I walk
through swinging doors of
chance, willing to trust again.
