Treason's Voice

Mile Marker MCCCXLIV

Free Verse

Scantily clad perfection is tempting
granite walls defending naked truth.
Fate once more deciding innocent
blood needs to hear treason's voice.
How many circles begin with a
moment shared, never to end?
How many nails are required to help
me stand as I gaze into
your eyes of velvet pain, knowing
night approaches. . . .
Tell me that love is still our precious
treasure, that the sun survives
to show our way.
Whisper in my ear, tell me confessions
made yesterday are lies,
whisper in my ear
with treason's voice and
tell me you still love me. . . .
