Beautiful Yesterday

Mile Marker MCCCXLV

Free Verse

Passionately lethal,
vandalized voices seeking revenge.
deception's quick escape, sliding
on the bloody floor, blaming fate.
Fatal paradise softly whispers,
warning the dangers of perfection.
Freedom fights for July,
knowing only December's end.
Darkened hourglass descends,
while diamonds ruthlessly dream.
Leave me I beg you, allow me to live,
suffered forever, tomorrow has come.
Always remember your final words,
follow me into the light. . . .
Extended shadows threaten
a hallowed piece of
ground never laid to rest.
Lost perceptions linger, questions
demand answers death will
never give. Your silent presence
too eternal, go into the
light without me please. . . .
Tragedy a moment known
since love decides forever shared
and angels fly from minutes thrown.
Memories reflect the emptiness felt,
when I see the stars shed a tear
still haunted by ripples of you
my beautiful yesterday.
