Morning Serenade

You told me you loved me this morning
With that small pecking kiss that you gave
Then you rolled back over and whispered
Sweetheart, I do wish you'd shave

As I got up to go to the bathroom
I hear you make rumbling sounds
Sounds like ' I'll love you for ever,
If you'll put the toilet seat down'

' Then when you're done with your shower
Pick that towel up, just don't let it lay
I don't want to sound like I'm bitching
But you know I like things put away'

Well I smiled as I left to fix coffee
Being sure that I left no mistakes
I found your sweet note on the counter
Saying clean up the mess that you make

All finished , I'm back in the bedroom
Bending over to kiss you goodbye
When I found out that I've been rewarded
By reflection of love in your eyes

So when I leave the house I'm still smiling
Realizing I'm happy and blessed
In a world full of wonderful women
I married the best of the best.
