Closing my eyes, my mind wanders back to you
Remembering our last day together, my eyes bathed in sadness
It was a painful kiss goodbye as we both tried to smile
And yet deep inside our hearts we both knew that it was time to let go
The roses of our love we planted have grown very big and tall
Our love and laughter no longer fills the summer air
Only hushed sounds now of a memory that seems like a lifetime ago
My heart is broken in a million pieces as I struggle on each day
The stars of love no longer seem to sparkle and shine since you have gone away
If only I had one more moment in time with you to hold you in my arms
To see the warmth once more of your beautiful, warm smile
I would give anything just to watch the beautiful twilight skies once again with you
