Out To Sea

Mile Marker MCCCL

Free Verse

Existing chains of love fall
loosely to the ground,
breaking bonds of steel,
casting silver sarcasm.
Moonlit eyes see other stars,
mistaken identity no longer desired.
Softly sighs the evening breeze,
whispering to twilight shadows grown.
Farewell distant memory,
farewell completed dream.
Forever had a purpose,
forever now must end. . . .
Exiled to foreign shores,
greatest treasures lost,
afraid of sudden liberty.
Can life go on alone?
Conflicting directions,
haunting blame, searching for answers
diamonds will not give.
Humility lies for pride
Greatest strength smallest weakness.
Confession's carelessly thrown
dice at sorrow's reflection.
Ripples of mercy,
circles of pain.
Softly sighs the evening breeze,
helplessly watching darkness
change the rules when success
floats closely by just out of reach.
Fleeting happiness, payment for
consequences thought could afford,
can never repay.
Farewell tragic memory,
farewell shattered dream.
Forever had it's moment,
forever rests in peace. . . .
