These Moments
At that moment I was wondering if it was all worth it. What exactly could be gained from continuing down the road of wishful fantasies. Then like a shining beacon the music hit me as I opened the door to go outside. On the radio Kelly Clarkson was singing “A Moment Like This”, and I suddenly realized I have not had to wait a lifetime for my precious moments. In the life I have lived these moment have been plentiful and there are many more just on the horizon.
All at once I could envision you there before me. I bask in the beauty of your gaze and all that it encompasses. You have never questioned my strength, my determination or my strong will. You're the one, who knows me honestly, completely, better than anyone else ever has. Is it by chance that I found you? I would like to believe that nothing happens by chance, but for a reason. At times the connection between us appears tenuous at best, but it is in the invisible realm we find our strength. Faith, belief and unconditional love cement the lasting bond between us. Somehow I just know, even in the troublesome moments. It's the strangest feeling to fathom. Not at all tangible or explainable it just is.
The mirrors of midnight that expose the darkest shadows may portray a shocking visual. A woman completely lost in her own beliefs and visions of tomorrow. She's undaunted by love's fearsome soaring heights. The world just cannot seem to understand how she avoids the mirrors that expose their disbelief in the darkness. They continue to wonder and pray her sanity will rescue her from a fairytale existence and return her to reality.
With the strength you helped her to see she shuns the negativity running rampant all around her. Her world remains a happy place, her vision has never been that good in the darkness anyway. Looking into the mirror reflecting the light the glow is all she sees staring back at her. She knows what's hidden behind the smiles and just to know you're there assures me the sun will shine tomorrow on our happily ever after.
