Dangerous Circles

Mile Marker MCCCLIV

Haibun Verse

Contemplating entangled memory,
what to remember, what to forget.
Burning bridges collapse, emotions fall to
decaying dampness, numbing stagnation
quickly freezes beneath rusting ruins,
reliving yesterday over and over again.
'Why have you forsaken me. . . .'

Pieces of heaven
Collecting on the mountain side
Broken with time.

Causal conversations with fated decisions,
love's fearsome soaring height,
rejection's blackest depth.
Hear confessions mercilessly leverage truth,
exposing shattered change, lies kept
secret beneath deathless time, festering.
'You never understood perfection. . . .'

Exposed bitterness
Throwing darkness at the stars
Can no longer reach.

Unforgettable years selfishly believe
the sun will shine tomorrow,
love will rebuild the treasured life it destroyed,
rewarding with happiness deserved.
Addictions ease the pain, once more,
reflections seen through scarred glass, yesterday.
'Forever I have loved you, forever will. . . .'

Approaching Darkness
Silent shadows grow around
Dangerous circles.
