Litltle One

My LITTLE ONE I know the feelings of despair
I know at times you thought I didn't care but
If I could hold you in my arms and rock you I would.
If I could take away all the hurts of the past I would.
To feel and hear my laughter from my inner child
that at times has threatened to come to the fore like
a bubbling brook lets me know you are there.
In these times I realise the love you have
buried deep inside.

You pick me up and turn me around
Making me feel like a small child again.
Playing hide and seek or peek-a-boo
makes me remember you.
The words so clear and so dear
tell me you are here
When I go to see grandchildren
you come rushing to the fore,
to help me relearn how to play and be a child again.

Going to my daughters and seeing the little ones
makes me so happy as they say Nana can we please play.
Running through the house being horses or deer
or being anything that we please,
makes me want to reach deep inside
and take out my inner-child to come and play along
Listening to the giggles as we make believe
is an eye opener for me.

Happily Embracing the Inner-child within
is a good way to learn to be as a child again.
Running in the water building castles in the sky.
Playing sing along ,bobbing up and down
pretending we are in water, or in the jungle deep
fighting all the animals or catching them as well.
Sometimes we can be dogs and howl or bark at the moon,
or just a little kitten purring as we run around the table
looking at the pretend mice and chase them out the house.
When alone I play in the play ground of my inner child.
Knowing that sometimes I draw or at times write
seems to me the inner child is alive in me
and my grand children bring it out to play.
