WHERE WERE YOU
Dear Father as I come to you
I'm really feeling sad
Always come September time
I remember things so bad
Another 9/ll soon will pass
I still can hear the angels cry
As they watched destruction
From Your Heaven in the sky
For it was September
I was watching the morning news
Before my eyes I saw a sight
That did nothing but confuse
As the Anchor of the news
Stood stunned as so did we
All the people watching
This horror on TV
Dear Lord, we screamed, we cried
There was naught that we could do
And so we sat there spellbound
As we watched it on the news
Before realizing for sure what
happened
As we saw the smoke and fire
Right before our very eyes
A plane hit yet another tower
Before long the Pentagon was hit
And then the flight numbered 93
Crashed out in a lonley field
Dear God, what heartfelt agony
We knew now that this was terror
We watched on our tv
Meant America was no longer safe
And how shall we again feel free
What of all the souls, dear Lord
I know that you were there
Even though some would question that
I would wonder how they dared
Lady Liberty still waves
But war now continues on foreign soil
As our Men and Women go
Please Jesus, bless their souls
Dear Lord, you said this day would come
Why did we not even recognize
That those times were happening
As we watched with tear filled eyes
Terrorists still stalk the lands
Places many once called Home
There is fear now in all hearts
Wondering where the enemy now
roam
Could tomorrow be the day
That it could happen here
Now the proud and able
Walk with hearts of fear
No place now, Dear Lord
Is safe for man nor beast
For dead bodies lay on foreign soil
Seems this war will never cease
It seems that people still don't know
What to do or what to say
I can only tell the children
To be on their knees and pray
Open up your hearts to God
He's waiting to come in
Now, my friend, fore tis too late
Forgiveness for all your sin
If something so horrific as
Was that day September Eleveen
Doesn't open up your eyes
Perhaps you will miss Heaven
The choice is always ours to make
The pathway is clear and straight
St. Peter is up there waiting now
Just right inside the Gates
Another 9/11 soon shall pass
I can still hear the angels cry
As they watched this fury happen
From Your Heaven in the sky
It is now years later, yet
