Soldier for Him

I laid it all on a jagged line,
my honor, my blood and my soul,
‘twas all part of a celestial design
to hasten the grasp of the goal.

I laid it all for the good of mankind
and the furtherance of the cause.
Not one selfish thought in my mind
and no roadblock coerced me to pause.

I laid it all before the Almighty’s eyes,
giving over my heart to his glory.
I pray for the salvation of he who denies
the ongoing writing of this story.

I laid it all down; of my burden I’m free,
my sins will be absolved over time.
I willingly defer to a much higher entity
who occupies that heavenly clime.
