The starlite café

There is a place I go to
A place
I call my second home
I place
Where I
Can read and post
Poems

I recall one day
I tried to enter
This place
That I call
My second home
Saw the place,
was locked
And the lights
Turned off

I was heartbroken
Thought now what do I do?
How do I read,
and post poems
And stay in touch
With friends too?

There was a man
Named Albert
Who had a dream
And he made that dream
Come dream
And he was kind enough
To share that dream
With me and you

But Heaven needed
An Angel
And Albert was called home
And not to long after that
The doors to the café
Were closed

Months that seemed,
like years
Before
Once again
We were welcomed,
back inside
To this place
A lot of us call home

We had new owners
And a lot of new fancy,
things too
Our home was back open
And I was happy
Yes it’s true

Things have changed,
around here
Lots of new faces,
and poets too
But it still has,
that homey feeling
Where all are welcomed
Inside

With the new owners
We also have changes
New fancy features too
But the café all started
Because of one man’s dream
Came true

And he was kind enough
To share his dream
With me and you

Friends can be found here
Some become family too
There is no better poetry site
This is true

Everyone is welcome here
Just take a step inside
I bet you will love it
Just you wait and see

Take your time and look around
Get the feel of the place
Join a few challenges
The old and the new
And soon you will find
Some awesome friends
Too

Read and write poetry
Comment on a few poems too
Then other’s will comment,
on your poems
Too

The starlite café
The place I call my second home
I was so thankful the day
The lights were turned
Back on
