One Last Dance

Leaves are notes of autumn's magic
Floating graciously through time
Music's movement slowly dancing
But a phase in nature's rhyme

Colors brighten lawns and forests
Yellow, orange, red, and brown
Gusts of wind with breezes' flutter
Lift and swirl leaves up and down

Waltz along with autumn's harvest
Feel the chill and breathe in deep
Change shall come to all that’s living
Closing eyes for restful sleep

Circle turns toward days grown shorter
Life moves on like leaves from trees
Beauty flows through passing seasons
Saving, yet, more memories

Hope was spring and joy was summer
Trust is what sweet autumn brings
Meant to draw us close together
Warm against harsh winter's sting

One last dance before it's over
One last kiss beyond compare
Pause, observe, and truly savor
Nature's magic, autumn's flair
