Harry.... The Redback Spider
There sat Harry, the patient redback
waiting for a bite,
underneath the BBQ table,
he'd have some fun tonight.
So patiently he waited
while the sausages cooked,
he expected to be discovered,
but no-one even looked!
The guests had all been seated,
but none were close to him,
so he quickly ran to the nearest leg,
and dug his fangs right in!
The table was up ended,
women screamed in fright,
Harry was ecstatic,
but fancied one more bite!
He ran up the leg of the BBQ,
he'd have a whole sausage of his own.
But in his haste, he'd forgotten the hotplate,
and was well done to the bone~

'The Red Back Spider'... is Australia's best known deadly spider. They are found all over Australia, and are common in urban areas.They appear in songs and even have a beer named after them. Hundreds of bites are reported each year, but less than 30 percent require antivenom treatment.

Ok Folks
I'm thinking outside my comfort zone. I don't do humor writes, so I'm giving it ago!
I am also reversing my form of writing. I usually write in free verse and feel comfortable doing this, but thought I'd give rhyming a go!
'Please be gentle with me, I'm really out of my comfort zone here' Lol Lol.
