ROBERT W SEVICE

ROBERT W. SERVICE

THE CREMATION OF SAM MCGEE

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold.
the Arctic trails have their secret tales.
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sites,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was the night on the marge of Lake Le farge
I cremated Sam Mcgee.

My favorite writer after my Mom.
Robert Service wrote of life.
Not in the formal poetry.
He was the poet of the people.
All could understand and relate.
Sam Mcgee, a Canadian favorite.
I have read four books of his.
His writing was an influence,
In my younger years I followed.
I tried some similar writes to his.
Check him out if you don't know him.
A great Canadian poet, world renowned.
