COUNTING MY MEMORIES

Why is it when good fortune
Smiles you right in the face
Something should happen
To take its place

Not something good mind you
Seems from back in the past
Something comes to smother the joys
Reminding you this cannot last

Negative thinking, you thought was gone
Come back to haunt you again
How do we ever get rid of those memories
We think we have....and then...

Back to destroy whatever they can
Things from the Devil's own place
God had forgiven and taken them back
But the Devil thrives in disgrace

Tell it to God, He'll make sure
That never again will this happen to you
He will destroy what the Devil picked up
No more to smother the joys as he'd do

Smile, my friend, God's on your side
There will be no more smothered joys
You shall find peace and happiness too
Rest in God's promises - life to enjoy
