May I Call You Friend?

It’s no wonder that you’re so well loved
by all who have shared your space.
Your interactions are always kid gloved,
never confrontational or up in their face.

Pleasantries are never too hard for you to find,
your lips would never entertain a lie.
Amazingly you easily adapt to a like mind
melding two loose spirits on the fly.

Loose rumors and their accompanying pain
you know should stop there with you.
Whose right is it to show such disdain
even if you know it to be true?

Your friends should have you sainted,
it’s something you could lay a bet on.
The colors with which your words are painted
never lose the smiles they’re built upon.
