Blended Hues

The world is far from black and white
Many colors fall in the shades between
Every shade has distinction and necessity
Certain hues even depend solely on another

Emotions have their different shades too
Drenched in colors of conflicting feelings
Until the hues blur into an absence of light
Left in a cocoon of confusion and uncertainty

Need to remember the time of clear distinction
If I had just one wish I could slip inside and be
In some technicolor dream decorated in reality
To gain some perspective on the here and now

Instead I bounce off rainbows and see visions
Of a nonsensical world mixed up beyond words
Trying to decipher daydreams from nightmares
Despite the striking similarities in their colors

Love, fear, doubt, hope in pictures combined
Beginning to realize they are indistinguishable
The one decision I have to make for my sanity
Where will I focus my energy and place my faith?
