On Her Broken Wings

The symbol of our country
That bald eagle flying free
Is known by every nation
As strong and right and free

Now there are some people out there
Trying hard to bring her down
To put a tether round her leg
Anchor her to solid ground

There are terrorists who fly by night
Corporations greed at day
The ignorant and reckless
Who would take her wings away

For we're embroiled in all these wars
We cannot seem to win
While our dollars getting weaker
As huge debts are settling in

The politicians talk and talk
Wherever apathy is king
Americans need an honest man
To unite them once again

For our way of life's in danger
We just cannot let that be
This is a problem we can solve
Take a page from history

While up above our bird flies on
With sore and broken wings
She still flies for home and country
Ti's freedom's song she sings

Each one of us must do his part
Put our shoulders to the wheel
Show our support for our proud bird
May she soar on wings of steel.

GOD BLESS AMERICA !
