Curtain Call Diva
I am Melba, Nellie Melba,
would retire but don't know how.
Such a famous opera diva
My fans will not allow
for me to take that final curtain,
and I find I must kowtow.
May I reach my rest for certain
in the aura of my final bow?
I had a try at love and marriage
but not such joy could that endow
as my jewels and golden carriage.
