I wish

I wish I could slip inside and be in some technicolor dream back in time
Back to a much simplier time where happy memories with my grandmother were made
For in many ways she was more than a grandmother, she was my very best friend
She taught me when I was young how to knit and sew and each night read me a book
There was alot of joy we gave one another each and every day going places together
My grandmother and I sure did love having our scones and our tea
Some nights I when I was young I would cuddle up in her arms and watch TV
Each night before I went to bed we both would sing our favorite song
We had a close and special bond and she always knew when things were wrong
She taught me how to play piano and taught me how to write poetry
Some days we together would just relax and she would write a poem or two with me
I have many fond and beautiful memories of my grandmother that is close to my heart each day
She meant the world to me and I wish I could have just one more moment in time with her today
Just to thank her for the precious love and guidance she gave me and to let her know how much she is missed and loved by us all
For she was more than just a grandmother, she was my very best friend
