Dad you were too young to die
Tonight I remember you as I say a prayer to the heavenly sky
I am older now and have children of my own each day
You would be so proud of me daddy and I wish you had at the time more time to stay
I remember when I was a child each night together we would read a book
I remember at the time grandma and I always making scones since I loved to cook
You never saw me graduate since you died so very young in life
You never walked me down the aisle when I got married to my loving soulmate
But daddy when you look from the heavens you would be so proud of our family
You would have been a grandfather to our two beautiful girls
Help me mend my broken heart dad as my tears fall like rain
For daddy you are missed by all of us each and every day
As your daughter you would have been so proud of me and our beautiful family
As you look down from the heavens I see your star shining so bright
Daddy it gives me comfort and I wish even for a moment in time I could spend with you
Just to let you know how much you have meant to me over the years since you died so young
And to know I love you always and I am happy in life to
I miss you terribly daddy as I took some flowers to your grave with your grandkids
You would be so proud of our little girls daddy
Tonight daddy I will send this prayer to the heavenly skies for you
