WHAT YOUR SEEING IN THE MIRROR

I look at you and have to really wonder
With all you think you have going on
That surely someone missed their calling
How did the gods not set your form on bronze

I see you always looking in the mirror
It is quite plain that you admire what you see
I just wonder what would ever happen
If you spent even half that time looking at me

You just don't seem to get it
That life isn't just all about you anyway
But when your old and the statue's dirty
You will have had your glory days

Then what will you do my famous wonder
When all the bronze has turned to steel
And tears just fill your eyes when you see it
For finally you know it wasn't even real

I just don't know how to say this
But I hope somehow you find just who you are
For the man that kept staring back in the mirror
Never did exist...not here nor even there
