Switchback Flashback
Anticipation extreme,
as you wait in line and hear them scream.
Locked in place, you sit and wait.
The buttons are pushed, there's no escape.
A clamoring climb as the cogs engage.
To the top of the rise, expanses gazed.
Over the top then plummeting fast.
Inertia takes over as speed meets mass.
A few sharp turns, left then right.
Another hill, as fears take flight.
Your glad you've arrived as the brakes grind.
Then you look for your stomach that was left behind.
*switchback is old english for rollercoaster
