The Mighty Army

When the army of the Lord appears
Twill sweep away all pain
All sorrow and injustice
Across the world's vast plain

Twill free us from the tyranny
Of war and smoldering sin
Twill cleanse the oceans and the streams
Let nature breath again

Twill greet all men as equals
Cure the sick and help the poor
Then lead the willing children
On the path to heavens door

Our journey may be lengthy
But worth it you'll agree
For a triumphal homecoming there
Awaits, for you and me

God gave us marching orders
On the cross so long ago
Then appointed his disciples
To show us how to go

You will see our banners flying
Wooden cross still in the lead
As you listen to the thunder
Of a billion marching feet

You will hear our voices singing
Past the shadow of the grave
Won't you join us in a chorus
Of the anthem of the saved

*We're marching to Zion
Beautiful city of Zion
We're marching homeward to Zion
That beautiful city of God*
