I’m Ready

We walked effortlessly
side by side,
enjoying the picture
of God’s painted canvas,
the landscape of green
covered in lemon splashes
with touches of lavender
and lilac sprinkled through,
the dancing reds
and the blanket of white
baby’s breath,
and the rich black soil
from whence it’s birth began.
We basked in the colours of
God's artistic hand,
,breathtakingly enjoying
a magnificent view.

As our love continued to grow,
we stood by each other in good
times, in heartache and pain.
through the valleys and the hills
and after reaching our goals
in the mountains high,
we celebrated at will.
We smiled , we laughed, we cried
our spirits touched
by the Holy spirit.
a journey so vivid still
in the landscape of my mind.

years passed,
my love has turned the page,
now, I walk alone,
and ponder along the way,
thinking of holding hands
with you again one day.
you know,
every now and then, I hear
a whisper or see a shadow go by.
I feel a faint touch
Upon my shoulder,
and I wonder, yes I wonder
is it you, are you here
to prepare me
for that quiet meeting place
in paradise, and if so,
I’m ready, oh I’m ready, yes I’m ready
