The seams of my life is the homeplace
No matter how great or how small
It's my haven from all of life's stresses
Perhaps this small poem says it all

For

Home is the place the heart goes
When it has need of rest
When the winds of life blow hard and strong
And the spirit is upset.

A cardboard box by the corner
Or the largest mansion tall
Home is where the heart lives
The rest dosen't matter at all

Rich men think that silver and gold
The best of homes can buy
But mansions can be cold as hell
If love isn't living inside

Better to be in that cardboard box
With people whose love is warm
With just a small candle to light their night
Love keeps them safe from harm

But just give me a house by the side of the road
A cottage cosy and small
A sweet little dog and a calico cat
And I'l step aside from it all

I don't need much to just get by
A song, a poem, God's book
A door where love can enter in
And a window out which I'll look

There I'll watch the world as the seasons pass
And no matter what comes or goes
I'll be content as man can be
In my castle beside life's road

There I will live, a happy soul
Till my life span has run out
Then I'll change this home for my golden throne
Where sweet angels are flying about.
