History

Our paths crossed
yours instinctively finding mine
at the exact instant I required
a new passageway to journey

You fed my fantasies with your eyes
filtering out the stress of the day
with a smile dancing there

Verbs floated from your lips
puffed up with flowery adverbs
creating a paradise in which my psyche
wandered freely

My unused dreams came alive
as syllables spoken in your voice
bathed me in soon to be made memories

I drank in your countenance
sating myself on the serenity
only love provides…

…and the rest is glorious history
