Sometimes It Rhymes

The imagist writes of the concrete world.
A voyeur too scared to give love a whirl.
With great trepidation, alone at home
he tries hard to write a divergent poem.
Sagaciously or not he spends his time
turning imaged free verse into sweet rhyme.

For once he was Williams* true protégée
now, his rejection has blown him away.
Like a beadsman, becoming atheist
his character is his antagonist .

*William Carlos Williams is considered one of the great imagists
