TOGETHER FOREVER
We have waited alone for many years
Being lonely, crying our bitter tears
Too young to be alone the rest of life
I need a husband to love and you a wife
When God spoke to us, we weren't listening
Didn't know just who we were even missing
You wrote your poems and I would read; comment
I did the same and sometimes little notes were sent.
There went the years, passing by as they do
Never ever dreaming that one day I'd hear from you
Being your sweet self, checking to see
If all the falls I'd had - had injured me
That just began the chain of calls and now
We wait with baited breath each day somehow
Who will pick up the phone first to call
We talk many hours through the day to say it all
We never do - say it all. At night we tuck each other in
Reading, playing music, reading poems - let the pillow talk begin
So early in the morning we can't wait to call
Nights are long and lonely as most would recall
As we wait on each other love we reminisce
Wishing we could but hold each other and kiss
One day and it won't be long from now
We will be together as we take our vows
To see the rest of life together in love
Until God bids us to come to Him above
Where others wait for us with many smiles
Putting us together even though across the miles
Angels bringing us together knowing we
Would be so happy - only they could see
And God agreed and brought you hear my dear
I wait with baited breath and not a single fear.
