A Whisper too Late

An invitation for coffee, one fateful day
After rejected invitations, brought final dismay
Urges and cajoles, she finally said ok
Date was fixed and they met rightaway
@
Polite and eloquent, acts brighter than the sunray
Jokes and giggles, trailed their way
Captivated by his charm, she decided to stay
It's a price she did not know, she had to pay
@
Forceful and rude , not at all as gay
Mean and selfish, he did as he may
Alone she feared as she was forced to stray
Gone he was tomorrow, he kept at bay
@
A whisper too late for her to breakaway
A whisper too late, solitude, her hideaway
A whisper too late, moments to replay
A whisper too late, a trust betray
