The Wicked Face

*monorhymed villanelle*

A wicked face to flash a wicked grin
Give way, plunge in the vagaries of sin
Give way, and let your darkest wishes win

Reviewing what the demon said again
I shuddered deep, I couldn't let him in
A wicked face to flash a wicked grin

So forceful were his words, to my chagrin
I found that I considered them again
Give way, and let your darkest wishes win

So many times I'd struggled from within
To bite my tongue, resist the urge to sin
A wicked face to flash a wicked grin

And was it not long written down within
That holy book, that we are prone to sin?
Give way, and let your darkest wishes win

No longer shall I turmoil such, I'll rend
These bonds of righteousness as I give in
A wicked face to flash a wicked grin
Give way, and let your darkest wishes win...
