Shake the Blues Away
As I get up today
I feel lost and ill anyway
Up and about check the weather out
Well it's still rainy today
I bundle up and go on my way
To the mall to play awhile
The dress I like is just my style
The price not in my percentile
I smile as I walk away
Knowing someday I may
Have the style I require
Another dream or two suits my desires
Wandering through the mall
For coffee and pie I find
A stall to sit and read a bit
The call comes in ,I got my job
Celebrating I dream some more then
Sit under the umbrellas watching the rain
Sitting whiling my day away
I spy the fall scavengers at play
There in the wet grass and leaves
Crows and squirrels looking for treats
Ravens fighting with their beaks
Crow sneaks in for the treat
Flying away with his coffee today
Seagull strolls up and takes
The bread crumbs from under
Their squabbling beaks
Stopping in defeat they squawk
As the crow enjoys his joe
The squirrels chatter and sway
Yes I think I must replay this day
For the city is on display
While I sit here today.....
I dream a dream as it
Unfolds here before me today...
