The Most Wonderful Moment

When out of the bridal chamber she stepped
like a flower that springs into bloom,
the sun accenting the gold in her hair,
her glance met the eyes of her groom.

The day had finally come. The hour was here.
The minutes were ticking away.
Only to make it through the eyes of the crowd...
Her lips moved as she silently prayed.

Her groom stood majestic, patient, and poised.
Never had she seen him so elegantly sharp.
But so far away, across the ocean of faces,
fear was touching the eyes of her heart.

Her maids had worked hard to make perfect the moment.
She was more beautiful than he'd ever seen.
The eyes of his heart were moved with emotion.
running down his cheeks the evidence streamed.

This moment had been a long time in coming.
They'd been together for so many years.
'Lord, thank you for giving me this Wonderful Girl,'
his heart rejoiced through the streams of his tears.

The moment passed, as all moments will,
but it's one to be cherished forever.
Their promise of love, in the presence of God,
is a bond that no conflict can sever.
