TO BE YOUR LITTLE ANGEL
I said to God, one night in prayer
Lord, when I have made it there
I know I will have those angel wings
But will I have other angelic things
Like their smiles and little giggles
As they fly away they sort of wiggle
Happiness comes with each one, I see
Oh God, I pray that will also be me
Are they friends in Heaven above
Sharing things; enjoying love
Do they spend their nights on fluffy clouds
Where they know that sweetness only is allowed
Oh my, my heart just smiled again
Thinking of my brother's twin
Little Betty Sue's been gone so long
I'd love to hold her; sing her a song
There are so many grownups there
Do the angels keep them all aware
Do they speak with them; make sure all's right
That their pillow is soft enough every night
I love you Lord, each night I pray
I want to tell You to have a good day
But that seems silly for in Your world
I know that both nights and days are good
Oh, to hear the angels singing
I know the bells will sure be ringing
For it is almost Christs birthday
When His first bed was manager hay
Oh, just to be there to celebrate
Must be the best - for oh how great
That You sent Mary for Jesus birth
Right here among the humblest on earth
So much to say to you my Spirit
