Robert Shaw Carpenter

A typical Robert Shaw Carpenter
has determination on his mind.
When there’s not the right tool to do the job
he has the ability to improvise.

Robert Shaw’s was here serving the people,
in the days before table saws,
when the only method of making tight joints
was good men with brain and brawn.

The noble motto of every man is
“To The Work With All My Might.”
Sure there’re mistakes, but when we’re a team
everything works out just right.

Thus we grew from a one-room shack
to the size we are today.
When we think of all the great folks we’ve served,
we’re not in the least ashamed.

Robert Shaw furniture will be standing firm
when the last Carpenter’s dead and gone.
If you want quality and deserve the best
just call Robert Shaw.

One day I caught Buck
holding a board up on
my table saw and cutting
it with a handsaw. I shot
a picture of that unusual
sight, and that prompted
this poem. His wife said
to him later, “That guy
must have had a darn good
camera to make you look
that good.”
