Getting older

Aches and pains
I have a few
They come with age
I believe
That is true

Pain in the back
After sitting
To long
Can't get up
I've sat
to long

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Pain in the knees
Yes, me and the stairs
Just don’t get along

Painful fingers
Yes,
I suffer with that too
Braiding or combing,
My waist length hair
Is a chore I suffer
Through

I think,
I need to wear glasses now
as the print is getting smaller
And it wasn't very long ago,
I swear,
That I was taller

Though my hair
Now shows a little grey,
And my skin,
No longer seems to fit
Somehow along the way
It developed wrinkles
In it,

On the inside,
I'm the same old me,
Just the outside,
Has changed a bit

I scratch my head
And think for a minute
What was I?
About to do

Seems, I cannot remember,
When I am,
Standing,
At the foot of the stairs,
if I must go up for something,
Or have just come down,
From up there.

I stand in front,
Of the fridge so often,
my poor mind,
is filled with doubt,
have I just put food away,
or have I come to take,
Some food out

The other day,
It happened by chance,
I passed a mirror, I decided,
Just to give it a glance
And I wondered,
Who that old woman could be,
who, with her mouth wide open,
in shock,
Was looking at me

Who can she be?
Where did she come from?
Who is this old woman?
I see in there
With the wrinkled up skin
And the long grey hair

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She must have snuck in there,
and taken my place,
Oh my God, What the hell
has she done to my face

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She once was young
With hair of black
Wrinkle free skin
And a few inches
Taller
Now she looks old and grey
And a few iches
Smaller
